THE BEND - FEBRUARY 2020.
48"X36"
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS.
$500.00 PLUS SHIPPING
This is "The Bend". I was wanting to do a larger canvas and was still enjoying trying to show motion in my work. I felt that the river running through rocks around a bend would give me a great opportunity to do so.
This piece has a lot of details from the sweeping clouds to the framing created by the foreground trees. This was painted at a rough time in my life and took much longer than most of my paintings.
The most enjoyable thing about "The Bend" is the ability to look at all of the little details. It is nothing that you can take in during one viewing and you will want to take some time with this painting.

THE SEA AND THE SKY COLLIDE.
NOVEMBER 2020.
18"X24"
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS.
(SOLD)
Last year my cousins daughter was in the hospital and was critically ill. He commissioned me to paint something for her to help cheer her up. He had mentioned that she enjoyed sunsets and the sea so I felt a South Pacific sunset would be just perfect.
I enjoy painting skies very much because there are few "rules" to it. I am free to do what I feel with form and color and it is simply, very fun.
May this painting bring her happiness and comfort when she looks at it and may she be healthy and happy and spend many years seeing the sea and sky collide.

LOVE IN THE TALL GRASS.
JANUARY 2021.
18"X24"
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS.
(SOLD)
Another commission piece. A man who loves a woman seeks a way to show her the depth of his love for her. This man searches for a unique, one of a kind way to do this so that the gift is like her, unique and one of a kind. He wanted to show them together, looking out into the colorful sky in a field of blowing tall grass. The two of them, a part of the universe and nature. One with the wind and earth and sky, forever.
I did my best to capture them, in love and in the environment that he explained to me. Showing what he felt when he is with her. I hope that I was able to capture that for him and that she loves it as much as he loves her.

THE MUSE SLEEPS. (WORK IN PROGRESS)
2011 - 2021.
15"x30"
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS.
$450.00 PLUS SHIPPING
I started this piece in 2011 and has been something that I have never been able to finish. When I am feeling uninspired, I take it out and work it a while until a spark of creativity strikes me. I call her my muse and she has never failed me. I posted it in hopes that maybe I can put her at rest once and for all but you never know...she could return some day.

THE FREITAG COMMISSION.
FEBRUARY 2020
16"x24"
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS.
(SOLD)
This is a commissioned piece that i was asked to do by a business associate. She handed me an old dog eared photograph of her Granddaughter with the old family dog from 20 years ago.
The photo had great sentimental meaning and she wanted a painting done of the photo to have a keepsake of a great memory.
She loved the finished painting and it felt very nice to bring this memory back to life for her so she can look at it on the wall every day and think back to a better time and smile.

THE LADY IN THE RED ROOM.
FEBRUARY 2021
22"x28"
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS.
$450.00 PLUS SHIPPING.
About 10 or 11 years ago I had an acquaintance that
lived locally in White River Junction, Vermont pose
for me. At the time, I thought she was beautiful and was happy to get the sketches done. Then we had a
falling out and I just never did anything with the
sketches. a few years later I did a wash study of the
sketch but never went any further. Recently I have
been wanting to finish these half finished projects up
so I pulled it out and set to completing it.
I don't normally use such bright colors when I am
doing portraits or figure painting so I decided to go
bold this time and pulled the red out! While blending
the background I started seeing rays of light in a dark
room and liked it. I used some spatters for texture and
blended the shadows on her back for a different
textured feeling which I liked.
It was a challenge blending the draping due to the
acrylics drying so fast but am pleased with the result. I am happy to finally finish her and complete yet
another figure study.
I stepped out of my comfort zone with my last two
pieces and worked skin and flesh where I normally
work landscapes and clouds. It was good to really
challenge myself and take some chances.
